Welcome. I offer face to face counselling for individuals and couples in Shoreham-by-Sea and online counselling via video, phone, instant messaging or email. I have been practicing as a fully-qualified counsellor for over 11 years and have experience of working with a broad range of people, from all walks of life.

I offer counselling services for individuals and couples through face-to-face and online therapy sessions (via video & voice; instant messaging or email).

Counselling in a safe, accepting environment

Whatever the medium I work in, I aim to create a safe, non-judgemental space for my clients: a space where they can explore all aspects of themselves, from working through specific issues such as anxiety, stress and long-term health conditions to working with the complexity of long-held trauma, issues with identity and deep-seated lack of self-belief.

I help you surface and share, in a controlled, safe environment, bottled up feelings such as anger, anxiety, shame and grief. Being able to express yourself freely and have someone sit with and accept your feelings, accept all that you are, is a powerful way to move beyond pain to a greater place of understanding and acceptance.

Helping you with life worries and relationships

Sometimes you may not feel there is anything specifically ‘wrong’ but you don’t feel satisfied in life: perhaps you feel a bit lost and unsure about what path to take. Counselling can help you better connect with your sense of self, your sense of purpose, and give you greater energy for life.

About me

I am a qualified, person-centred counsellor and member of the British Association of Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP). I have been running my private practice for over 11 years. Before starting my own practice, I worked as a therapist for a specialist bereavement counselling service.

Life-long learning

I love to learn, to work with all sorts of different people and to draw on my life experiences to support clients in a way that is most useful and meaningful for them.

The basis of my work – be that counselling or coaching – is that we all have within us the resources for growth, and capacity to have a meaningful life. I find meaning in helping people understand themselves better – understand why they may feel the way they feel, think what they think, and do the things they do. Through this understanding comes greater self-acceptance, self-care and self-belief.

Beyond the therapy room

I have experience in leadership development, organisational culture and managing teams and organisations through change. I have managed large, diverse teams of staff in emotive, challenging environments.

I have drawn on my counselling skills in other areas of my career, in particular when working in the charity sector. I have supported individuals through a wide-range of issues, including difficulties with their mental health, changes in their personal life, diagnosis of terminal illness, redundancies and work-related stress and anxiety.

An integrated approach

I am interested in many aspects of therapy and am committed to continuing my professional and personal development through ongoing training and life-long learning. I receive regular supervision to support my work and safeguard both me and my clients.

As a wife, mother, employee, employer, friend, sister, daughter and fellow human being, I am to tap into all my experiences to help me empathise and understand my clients and walk with them on their journey of self-discovery.

CONVENIENT LOCATION

I hold counselling sessions at my practice in Shoreham-by-Sea. I am also happy to have sessions in your home, if that is more comfortable for you.

EASY PARKING AND A SHORT WALK FROM THE STATION

My practice is a 10 minute walk from Shoreham train station. Parking is available (and free) outside my house. If you cycle I am happy for you to store your bike inside during your session
